June Chinook (King) Salmon
(20 - 73 lbs.)
There is limited opportunity Salt Only for casting a fly and limited although more productive opportunity while trolling a fly on the surface( Bucktailing).
- Rods - 9, 10 weight, 9 feet+ length
- Reels - 7, 8 weight, 200 yards backing 10 - 12 pound tippet, sinking line, sinking tip.
- Large 3'' plus length flies imitate minnows, Herring, needle fish, squid: white, green, purple, silver.

July/August
Pink/ Sockeye/Coho Salmon (2 - 12 lbs.)

There will be some opportunity for Sockeye and Cohos schooling to jump a set of falls as well. They will be 6-10 Lbs. and feisty. Red/pink is a A good choice you will be irritating these fish to Garnish a strike.
- Rods - 6,7,8 weight, 9 - 10 foot: - Reels - 5 - 8 weight, 150 yards of backing
- 6 -10 pound tippet, dry line floating long leader, sinking tip. Fast sink (heavy)can be used because your strips will be fast short darts.
- Flies - Shrimp patterns, orange streamers, pink streamers any flies with pink and orange as it's main body colour. Beaded eyes are sometimes usefull.
- Hook sizes #1 Long shank no longer #1 steelhead silver. Have a lot of hook showing on your fly.

August/Sept. Coho(Silvers) & Chum (6 - 25 lbs.) - Rods - 91/2 - 10 foot: 7, 8, 9 weight
- Reels 7 - 9 weight , 200 yards of backing
with 10- 12 lb. tippet, dry line long leader.
- Sinking tip, fast sink real fast retrieve.
- Flies - same as Chinook patterns in 11/2 - 2inch size.
- Bucktailing on the
salt water can be very successful at this time of year and casting flies in the river is at its peak.

Red/pink is a trigger at this time of year and green can be very
successful in the river for Coho.
