May / June

This world famous fishery is unsurpassed. LANGARA is situated on the north west tip of the Queen Charlotte Islands and is the most westerly point in Canada just south of Alaska in northern British Columbia.

This is an interception fishery, meaning numerous runs of Chinooks (Kings) from all over B.C. to as far south as the Columbia River in Oregon migrate from the open ocean and congregate on the shoals of Langara to fatten up on the abundant schools of bait fish present during May/June and early July.

King Salmon, Halibut, Ling cod,
whales, eagles, porpoise and crab.

Salmon are not the only predator; also taking advantage of the feed abundance is the giant Ling Cod and Pacific Halibut providing anglers with spectacular bottom fishing opportunities.

Orcas, humpbacks, porpoise and majestic eagles are also frequent visitors, performing aquatic and aerial shows that can be the highlight of a fishing adventure.

The unbelievable fish stories from this area have made it a legend in a short time. The location is pristine, rugged and alive with feeding chinooks, Langara is truely a fisherman's paradise!
