This world
famous fishery is unsurpassed. LANGARA is situated on the
north west tip of the Queen Charlotte Islands and is the most
westerly point in Canada just south of Alaska in northern
British Columbia.
This is an interception fishery, meaning numerous runs of
Chinooks (Kings) from all over B.C. to as far south as the
Columbia River in Oregon migrate from the open ocean and congregate
on the shoals of Langara to fatten up on the abundant schools
of bait fish present during May/June and early July.
